More than 58,000 individuals in Montana live in areas considered food deserts and have limited access to a grocery store or supermarket, making access to fresh, affordable food a daily challenge.
Vista Ridge Foundation is deeply committed to addressing food insecurity in Montana in ways that create meaningful, sustainable change.
It is our goal to implement accessible community programs and to establish effective solutions that engage community members with a specific emphasis on children and families.
What is food insecurity?
The technical term for hunger is food insecurity. Households that are food insecure face reduced quality, variety, and desirability of their diet due to lack of money or other resources for food. Very Low Food Security occurs when households must reduce food intake or skip meals
